Our standard · Clearly explained
A cactus name on the front of a bottle is only the beginning. The species, the plant part, and the preparation tell you much more about what you are choosing.
We choose freeze-dried pad powder so our capsules contain the dried and milled cactus pad, rather than juice or an extract. The label names the species and states the amount in each capsule. Our separately sold Nopal cactus powder is a different product and is not freeze-dried.

01 · The botanical at the heart of our formula
The pad is the heart of this formula
Our Nopal capsules are made with freeze-dried cactus pad powder. The label identifies the botanical as Opuntia streptacantha. The green pad and the prickly pear fruit are different parts of the plant. Check which part a product uses when comparing formulas.(1)
This is why we explain the pad-based preparation directly. When you compare products, begin by asking whether they contain pad material, fruit material, juice, an extract, or a blend.

02 · Care through every stage
Careful preparation before the powder
Freeze-drying begins with frozen plant material. Under vacuum, ice can leave as water vapor. A finishing stage reduces remaining moisture before the material moves on. The process prepares the pads for their next form without turning them into a juice or an extract.(2)
We choose this method to prepare the pads while limiting prolonged exposure to high temperatures. The drying method alone does not tell you how much of each nutrient remains or predict a health result.
03 · A clear amount. A measured format.
A clear amount in every capsule
Each vegetable capsule provides 500 mg of freeze-dried Nopal cactus. The Supplement Facts panel lists 1,000 mg per two-capsule serving and 60 servings per bottle. The bottle contains 120 capsules.(1)
The stated amount is the weight of the Nopal pad powder. It does not measure the fiber or individual plant compounds separately.

04 · Information you can examine
A straightforward formula, with the label to read
The label identifies freeze-dried Nopal cactus as the botanical and lists “Veggie Caps” under other ingredients.(1) You can examine the complete panel instead of relying on the front-label photograph or a general description.
“Freeze-dried” describes how the pads are prepared. Organic certification and pesticide-residue testing answer different questions and need their own supporting documents.
05 · Central Mexico-grown. People you can reach.
From our farms to the bottle in your hands
Our Nopal story begins on our farms in Central Mexico, at about 8,200 feet above sea level. The green pad continues through preparation, freeze-drying, milling, and encapsulation before it becomes the product you receive.
Natural Home Cures has served customers since 2004. When something on the label needs explaining, you can contact the people behind your bottle.

Read the formula · Understand the difference
How does that compare with other Nopal products?
Start with the species, plant part, preparation, and disclosed amount. A shared cactus name does not mean two formulas contain the same material.
| Product format | What to look for | How our capsules compare |
|---|---|---|
| Nopal pad powder in capsules | Species, plant part, drying method, and amount | Freeze-dried pad powder; Opuntia streptacantha; 500 mg per capsule |
| Nopal extract | Plant part, extraction method, extract amount, and any standardization | Our capsule amount measures prepared Nopal pad powder |
| Multi-ingredient blend | The Nopal amount separately from the total blend | 1,000 mg of Nopal per two-capsule serving |
| Juices and drops | Plant part, ingredients, serving size, and directions | Our capsules contain dried pad powder rather than a liquid preparation |
| Loose Nopal powder | Species, drying method, amount, and directions | Our separately sold loose powder uses Opuntia ficus-indica and is not freeze-dried; our capsules use freeze-dried Opuntia streptacantha |
Powder and extracts describe different preparations
Pad powder is cactus-pad material that has been dried and milled. An extract uses a liquid, such as water or alcohol, to separate selected plant compounds. The plant and the extraction method affect what the extract contains.(3)
A smaller extract amount is not automatically weaker, and a larger powder amount is not automatically stronger. An extraction ratio describes the amount of starting plant material used relative to the finished extract. Standardization means measuring and adjusting selected compounds to keep their amounts consistent between batches. Compare the preparation as well as the milligrams.(3)
Juices, drops, and powders have their own labels
A drink may use fruit, pads, other juices, water, or additional ingredients. Drops have their own composition and serving directions. A shared cactus name does not make these formats interchangeable.
Read the label for the specific product you choose. Our loose Nopal powder is not freeze-dried, and its directions differ from those for our capsules. The capsule amounts and directions on this page apply to our capsules.
The pad. The preparation. A clear amount.
Choose the Nopal format you understand

Our capsules bring together freeze-dried Nopal pad powder, a clearly identified botanical, and a measured vegetable-capsule format. Read the label, follow the directions for the product you choose, and contact us when something needs explaining.
